The old west! A time of cattle rustlers, gamblers, Indian attacks, shootouts, saloon fights, the list goes on and on.
For anyone studying this turbulant time in our history, I thought there should be some sort of record of the men that lived then. Something simple and easy to referance. So, this blog is a sort of encyclopedia of the old west lawmen and gunfighters. I hope it helps you in your research and studies.

When a marshal, sheriff or other type of peace officer is listed, the word "Lawman" will appear at the end of their name. Others listed are outlaws, gunmen or people taking part in shootouts. It was not uncommon in the old west for a person to be an outlaw but serve also as a lawman at some point. These people are not listed as lawmen because they had broken the law at some point in their lives.

If you have people that you think should be included in my list, please e-mail them to me. Send whatever info on them that you can. However, they must be documented to be included here.
